Good for You Oatmeal Cookies

I found the bestest, easiest, yummiest, healthiest cookie recipe on Pinterest recently! I just finished making my third batch in as many weeks and they are consistently awesome.

When you have a sweet tooth and want to stay on track, here's a nice treat. Sugar is NOT an added ingredient. 3 mashed bananas (ripe), 1/3 cup apple sauce, 2 cups oats, 1/4 cup almond milk, 1/2 cup raisins (optional), 1 tsp vanilla, 1 tsp cinnamon. Bake at 350 degrees for 15-20 minutes.

Here is the pinterest recipe:

Seriously, it cannot get any easier. The hardest part is waiting for the cookies to cool so that you can eat them. The first batch I did exactly as the instructions said. Delish! The second batch, I replaced the raisins with chocolate chips. They were unbelievable and I felt that bit of junk food guilt every time I ate one.  They tasted very sinful. With the batch I made today I left out the raisins and chocolate chips and added chia seeds instead. I also added ginger and nutmeg and left out the vanilla (oops, that was just because I had run out).  Also very good and didn't taste so much like I was taking extra helpings of dessert.
Because I used Bob's Red Mill Gluten Free Oats these cookies are gluten free. And they are naturally diary, fat and sugar free.
Pop over to my Pinterest Nom Noms board, I have this recipe plus many others ~ gluten free, not gluten free, vegan, not vegan, etc. If it looks Nommy it gets pinned!
