Old Farm Site

There have been tractors going 24 hours a day for a while at the end of my street! The field that used to grow cotton and corn has been completely turned over and I heard that there is an almond orchard going in there. An almond orchard!!!! I am so excited! Just imagine all the pretty blossom photos to come.....
The new owners cleared the old farm site. They left this little house and the barn and took out the old tower and animal paddocks. They cleared out all of the cactus, the weeds, the flowers and even the old burnt palm.
Check out this little house now.

I just love this last photo. It reminds me of something you might find on the Oklahoma prairie, a remnant of the old 1930's dust bowl.....

* If you like these photos, there are more ( better! ) ones here. *

This is where I first saw our kitty, Honey, back in August. We are so glad that we were able to catch her!  I hate to think of what her life could have been like now.

I'm sure she finds life so much easier and happier now.....
